     2011 - Not be outdone by 2010's Paul the Psychic Octopus, this year ushered in Tinsel, the Christmas Snake!

     As Google relates: "(A) viral news story from December 2011 involved a North Carolina family in Zebulon who found a corn snake in their Christmas tree, and while the kids thought it was cool, a snake expert safely removed the non-venomous reptile, which was likely looking for food, and released it, with the family naming the creature "Tinsel".
