2007 bring us the unveiling of the very first iPhone, which dramatically changes people's lives ... and starts a long, cult-like phenomenon of pepople lining up hours, sometimes DAYS early for every new, upgraded version.
In our opinion, the very best app they ever invented for this was the Google Maps fixture, which not only could find wherever you wanted or needed to go, but both showed you on the phone step by step how to get there, as well as telling you (via Siri or other voices of your choice) every step of the way what turns to make, etc.
Another excellent feature was its photo making capabilities, able to capture both in photos and videos moments that were happening in digital clarity. Like what, you ask? Like visiting the following Grotty Grottos, my lad - the yearly 'fleece the rubes' game of shameless 'entrepreneurs' renting a space to set up a 'Santa's Village' or the like and (for ourselves here at the K.A.C., anyway) patiently waiting for the first reports of their horribleness to come in. We've run this feature every year and it never disappoints! Here's a few of this year's contenders!

But hey, let's not get all bogged down with negativity (well, maybe a LITTLE bogged down)! Take a tip from these game folks who are going to make Christmas WORK, even if it kills them! Read 'Saunas, Skating and Celebratory Toilet Seats: 25 Ways To Get Into the Christmas Spirit':
Want to know how WE are going to get into the Christmas spirit in just a few years from now! By saving our Romanian leu for the grand opening of ... wait for it ... DRACULA LAND! Not a joke - it was just introduced this morning as I was putting the final touches to today's post. The first phase is set to open in 2027 and you NEED to view the AI promo piece for this place - views of what to expect from this 'Transyvlvanian Disneyland' (including the Vampire Hunting Training School) will raise the hairs on the back of you neck ... which, given where you'll be, is a GOOD thing (for the vampires, not you)! There's so much to unpack with this, I think we're stopping here - see you there!

Back tomorrow with more (although THIS is going to be a hard one to top)!
